Went like I figured it would. I started to cut the hole in the front cross member for the little tabs, but i ended up bending them up. I drilled one new hole in the tranny cross member and just had to drill the other hole out the top. I put the drill on my floor jack and made a drill press out of it. I would of never made it through without it. Pics:
hole i had to drill
On the front, one side of the skid has a bolt through it, and the other side is just sandwiched in.

That's what I had to do with mine but I even had to cut a small area out of the transfer case skid so they wouldn't overlap and hang down another 1/2". It may not be the strongest out there but it works well for me. I am not afraid of getting high centered anymore Nice Jeep by the way! |

I dont have a tcase skid "yet." I wish it didnt hang down as much as it does. And is plenty strong enough for me, would never jack the jeep up from it though. edit: mind me asking how you know its nice by looking under it? |

looks like everybody has the same idea, I just did my 04 with a trans skid too, only no holes had to be drilled at all 3 of the four bolt holes and nutzerts lined up like they should |

hmm, why did your holes line up? Weve both got 04's. And an ome lift but that doesnt matter, just kind of cool. Are you sure the back right one line up. Have any pics?? Did you do the clevis lift? |

no did not do the clevis lift as i have 2 1/2" at the front, not sure why it worked with the skid unless they changed the rear crossmember during production |

how long of bolts did you end up having to buy for the rear crossmember when you drilled it out? Also how big were they? looks nice! -Nick |

I had to get 2 2-1/2in(length), 3/8in(size) grade 8 bolts for the rear cross memeber. Now that i think about it, im not sure they were 3/8in, be careful using that info. I am sure about the length being 2-1/2 though. |

Did you do the clevis lift? In the 04 lineup, there were small changes in the middle of that year in the KJ. That may be one of the changes with the model (Crossmember having a different shape to it). |
