ok, so i'm on vacation with my family in the renny & i'm just 12 miles from reaching the end of the manu. warranty 36k miles ya'know & guess what breaks??? the d/s rear reg. breaks & i'm approx 400 miles from home. i'm freakin cause i REALLY don't want to pay for it out of pocket (especially after being away on vaca...hello $$$ or should i say goodbye $$ :D ) but i'm going over the warranty for sure as we drive back home. i call st pete jeep who fixed both fronts for me already back in feb/march but chrysler took jeep away from them so they can't help anymore but they let me know of a customer who had a similar issue. they gave me the # for the chrysler cust service helpline. i called & explained our situation & they were soooooo awesome, took all the info & gave us a work # to give to the next closest jeep dealership. it goes in tomorrow to be fixed & it will still be under warranty for the repair! thank you chrysler!!!! 8)
ps. 1 more reg to be replaced, guess i'll have to save my pennies for that one...still love my renny!!!

Steigerperformance.com has an excellent DIY fix for the rear windows in case that last one goes. About $80 takes 1.5 hours to install. Did it on my left rear and it was a snap.

Thanks for posting the steigerperformance info linewarbr, I just put in an order today to fix my first out of warranty regulator fail yesterday. If it wasn't for Lost KJ's and your post I would've taken it to the dealership to get the crappy / expensive job done instead of doing it right.

Thanks!!!!

Wow - talk about a fantastic product! I invited my Dad over last night to help out (the part arrived a few days ago - fast shipping too) and the install WOULD have taken around an hour, but we spent a lot of time discussing and poking around and ended up taking almost 2.

The instructions were very detailed an easy to understand, good illustrations and well thought out verbiage. The product itself looks bulletproof. As I was putting it back together I was thinking that this is probably the only thing out of the window assembly I will never have to worry about again. After all was said and done the window operates smoothly with no hitches or noise.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

Now if I can just figure out how to make the back windows roll up/down as fast as the front ones...
