I got a check engine light on my Jeep. It showed a miss-fire on a cylinder.
The newer type motor has a coil on each plug. So after replacing the coil,
The error code cleared, But while I was there I pulled the plug to take a look,
the gap looked way too big, so I closed it a little, put in back in, and headed off
to the auto parts store.
Now I do know that this is not a 100k motor between tune ups, the book say's
change plugs every 30k.
Looking at the auto parts store at all the "flavors" of plugs from $1.50 -$7+
I was a bit overwhelmed, I put in them split fires in an different motor but did
not see any big deal in them from standard plugs.
Well I thought I'd try the Bosch +4 platinum plugs, I was sold with "if you do not
notice a difference your money back"
The short story is WOW big difference, smother idle, at lower RPM's, better acceleration,
smother shifting. Can't wait to check on mileage.
