soo i've been having a slight problem with my jeep's cabin cooling/heating/defrosting system.

this problem occurs after the jeep has been running for roughly 45mins to an hour.. and it does not occur EVERY TIME the jeep has been running that long.. but most the time.

Only half of the air that would normally come out of the vents on speed setting number 1 comes out.. so if there was a "1/2" setting it would be stuck on that. but all the fan speeds work (1,2,3,4). i can hear them increasing and decreasing the movement of air.. but the same amount comes out of the vents. The air is also the correct temp. cold when a/c is on.. hot when heat is on. just barely any coming out regardless of what speed setting i have it on ( although the speeds sound like they are working). it sounds like a wirlwind going on in the thing in the passangers footwell (blower motor?) just nothing coming out of the vents. also it does not matter what position i have it on (defrost, top, feet, both.. whatever) it still barely spits out air when it's in the 'i'm not working' mood.

that's the best way i can describe it. any idea's on what to look for? sure is annoying when you cant de-fog the windows inside!!!

i apologize if this has been covered before.. i looked/seached and didnt find it. found some stuff on blower motor resisters but i dont think that's what's wrong with mine because all the speeds work just doesnt come out.

Well I'm no expert (and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn either) but I would probably be looking at either the vacuum connections for the blend doors or maybe the mode selector switch.

all the modes work (floor, top, defrost, both,).. and it gets much louder on the 'inclosed/recycle' position. ... and i checked for a vac. hose off.. and didnt find any

thank you for the advice though... every little bit helps! hopefully with some more of that type of advice i can get this thing figured out.

Mine has done that once in the exact manner you described. Was noticeably louder with less air coming out but all modes and temperature ranges worked as they should.. Just with less air.

I kept fooling around with the controls, turned the controls on and off, etc.. Then all of a sudden it worked fine and its not happened since. IDK. :?

haha your very lucky! i messed with everything a ton.. turned everything on and off.. different combinations of stuff to see if i could pin point it or make it do it / not do it... and nothing. either works or doesnt.. no rhyme or reason. this one really has me stumped

At the time I was getting very upset. I knew I was going to have to tear into the dash and replace a blend door or something stupid. At the time it was the least of my worries but since it fixed itself I wont set it on fire yet.

Would be neat to send a camera back into the dash and check things out. First thing I was going to check out was the door that changes from inside air to outside air. Wasnt sure if it could get stuck in a way to block air or not.

If the temp works and the modes change it cant be one of those blend doors. Idk what else is in there.
