Is there anything that i can do to stop that annoying rear window rattle noise/squeky like noise while driving? it sounds like rubber rubbing against glass, would WD40 fix it or not? any ideas? Thanks |

Do you have the window up or down while its rattling? Ive never had my rear windows rattle but my front passenger window will rattle when I have the bass turned up with the window down. If I roll the window slightly up or down it will usually stop. |

Mine just started doing this also when the colder weather hit. To me it sounds like the latch area where the glass gets locked is the culprit. It may be do to the contraction of the window seal because of the cooler weather. I was thinking on the way home as a matter of fact to stick a small piece of foam in there and see if it helps any but I am starting to get used to the noises of the Liberty |

Didn't someone have the spare tire carrier make this sound and eventually they found each squeak was the carrier tearing the tailgate very slightly? I'd take mine off and inspect it if I was you. I just took mine off for the first time and waxed under it. Not any too soon, I've got some scratching going on under the plates that sit behind the mount. |

Mine rattles a bit but that is from the extra weight of my larger tire. When I have the back closed and no spare, it is A-OK. Hense why I am looking for alternative ways to mount that bad boy. After awhile you will notice that the paint is wearing off on the passenger side, right where the rubber window gasket rubs. *shrug* It is what it is. LOL. |

Only noise/squeak I get is from the window / seal area, sI pray some silicone on and good to go for another month or so, seems cold weather makes it worse. My tire/tire carrier has been smacked 4 times ( rear ended) now so I think its good and solid and can't make any noises |

I do remember someone here with the spare tire carrier problem and they welded a broken spot weld from the inside while his wife sprayed the outside with water as not to ruin the paint. My problem is not such. It is the seal, took a ride last night in the back and pushed on the glass.....no more rattle, so I know that it is the seal contraction from the cold weather doing it. I had it parked in the shop for a few hours to warm up before I came home tonight and there wasn't a peep from it. I hope there is a adjustment on the lock mechanism similar to the door stricker bars so I can bring it in tighter for a tighter seal against the window seal. |

Put some white grease on the part of the latch that grabs the metal loop on the glass. I covered this a couple years ago, not here though. reference:http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27897&highlight=rear+glass+squeak |

I had the squeek after an agressive off road trip. I adjusted the metal look that the door latch locks on to in order to tighten the door. It fixed it for a couple of years. Now its squeeking again. |

I took duct tape and wrapped it around the metal ring on the window after trying everything else. Been squeak free (from the window) for months now. |

Yep it's the material the latch is made from that catches the metal loop. It seems to be a phenolic type of hard plastic that as it gets cold, dirty, dried out, it vibrates the metal hoop like a harp string causing the squeak. It took me about a year of trying different stuff before I finally narrowed it down to the latch catch. |

No adjustment to the latch or catch bar. I tore mine apart last night. I ALWAYS keep all of my lock bar's, latche's and hinges lubed with white lithium grease. So I used the man's repair and took some advise for once, used a small amount of duct tape to the bar and poof.........NO MORE rattle or squeak! Now if that only worked on the driveline noise I am getting |
