Post subject:  PCV Valve

I tried to change out the PCV valve and could not get the vacuum hose off. Anybody ever change theirs out and is there some special technique to get the hose off without damaging?

Mine just pulled right off.
Did you give it a good wiggle while pulling?

Btw, nice to see someone in the area on here!

It has probably just "glued" itself to it's attachment point, use a little L-shaped tool to get under it in one spot and work around to break the seal, a little WD-40 might help. Don't force it, be patient, and it'll give up.

Here's a diagram I have of both the 2.4 & 3.7 setups.

Hey guys, quick question, I was looking to change this, but on my '07, it's not there, lol. Just wondering if it moved on the newer years.

Thanks, Dean

You have the 3.7 motor? Look on the oil fill tube, it's the funnel-shaped black vertical apparatus on the front of the motor. The PCV has a mounting point on this funnel shape oil fill tube, it should be the only thing with a small rubber hose coming out of it. Best I can do without seeing your engine. Take and post a pic if you can of the front of your Jeep motor.

Haha, yeah, I know what the oil filler tube is, I changed my oil last week, and while changing my spark plugs this morning I was searching for the PCV Valve.. I must be blind..

Cool, thanks.. Is it even possible that they got rid of it altogether? Probably not because it's listed in the Maintenance Manual.

I also have a 2007. And from my understanding, our 2007 KJ 3.7 is the same motor at the 2008 KK, just a few minor changes, The 2007 requires different motor oil due to the all temp. change. We no longer have a transmission dipstick, and the 2007 doesn't technically have an alternator, it's a recharging system.

05+, the PCV is to the right of the air box, near front of engine.

Cheers,

Sorry to keep the confusion train rolling:

I was under the impression that for 2007 the PCV was located on the rear of the valve cover, drivers side.

Can't confirm or deny that I know this information to be accurate.

Cheers,
That is the engine breather filter, the PCV valve on '02-'06 3.7's are mounted in the oil fill tube. The '07+ 3.7's (KJ/KK) moved the PCV valve to one of the valve covers if I remember correctly.
