My rear brakes are warped. I need to replace the rotors and pads. Can any of you guys give me suggestions as to some good after market replacements?

Thanks.

Considering the weight of rotors I think you could save shipping by buying close to where you live.

NAPA Ultra Premiums. Spend the extra money for the good ones and you won't regret it.

NAPA= store and parts line name. Raybestos= brake pads and rotors brand name.

Check your year. I arbitrarily picked 2005.

We all know about the brakes rubbing when in reverse and turning left issue? I have had the stealership replace my rear brakes twice already and now that my warranty is up I am still having the issue. Has anybody had this issue that has replaced there factory setup with some aftermarket parts? Did it help eliminate the problem or is it a lifetime Liberty issue?

That's a new one and not a common issue at all.Did you have the rear calipers replaced? They have a TSB for the rear brakes, something about those plastic pistons in the OEM calipers. If your brakes rub when turning left you got other issues that are not brake related.

I have a friend who has a friend that is a mechanic for jeep. He said he see's it all the time...?
I was told that when brakeing in reverse with the wheel at hard left that it was the deflection of the caliper touch the rotor  Sounds like something major to me but I always got the same answer from them "that its not a big deal"? Hard to tell what they really know down at the old dealership! :banghead:

Oh a "friend of a friend" story  .

If you have that problem the hub bearings are shot(or flange is bent but would do it all the time) or the lugnuts/caliper mount bolts are loose. That mount should not deflect any without the brakes applied, and it would take more system PSI then a vacuum assist brake system can produce to make that mount deflect when the brakes are applied, hydroboost maybe on a setup not made for hydroboost but highly doubt it.The rotor hat will deflect before that mount will

I am planning on replacing the rear rotors when I get to 50,000 miles, about 7500 to go. Maybe that will take car of the problem...
