I am looking at a jeep that has basically 36000 miles on it. the 2007's dont come with the 7/70,000 warranty. Would this be concerning to you? How often do big things break typically?

The 2008s come with the lifetime warranty, but ones in the 30,000 mile range are too expensive, and the ones that fall in the price range are 2007s with out the warranty past 36,000.

Thoughts?

Thanks
Joe

36k is absolutely nothing to worry about with regular maintenance. Check all the fluids, etc, normal stuff to do when buying any used vehicle. BTW the lifetime warranties are only valid for the original owner (non-transferable).

I bought my 06 which was a previous rental with 16K miles on the clock in 1/07. It now has 92K miles on the clock and with the exception of a hose or 2, has been flawless. It's actually the highest mileage vehicle I've ever owned.

I think it also depends if you like the KJ or the KK better. The KJ has more aftermarket parts if that is of concern.

I have an 06 that had some problems but all was sorted out under warrantee. Have 38k on it now and 10k trouble free.

I won't assume, so I'll ask - Which model of Jeep?

There are no guarantees. Automobiles are high-risk from day one. Do what feels right.

Doesn't seem to bad of an offer, your WRX is an '08 so it is 2 years old, and the NADA guide shows the average trade in value of an STi w/17k mi at $24,875... Remember, if you have pretty much anything down aftermarket, it lowers the trade in value (private party value goes up, trade goes down).

No mods and according to NADA for out here in colorado on in average shape pulls $26,000. I own a detail business on the side and the car has low miles. They bought one with 30,000 for $24,000 and are selling it for $31,998 and its not in good of condition. All I want is $26,500 which is fair in my opinion considering it would come with a 100,000 warranty from subaru.

If I can get them to $25,500 I would take it..
