Ok, bare with me on this. About 4 or 5 months ago, my 4 cylinder liberty started stuttering going from 0 to about 40. I took it into the dealership and they replaced one spark plug. It is now doing it again and we again took it into the dealer and it is the same spark plug. My question is this, is there anything that I can do to prevent this from happening? Will a new set of plugs and wires fix it?

Thanks

Some vehicles just have a cylinder that will always foul the plug before the others but only 4 months between incidents is very short. I am not sure what the 4 cylinder has but if it has plug wires I would check them and the distributor cap. If it has coil packs I would check the coil pack for that cylinder or just have the dealer replace it. Hopefully it is not something more serious like a head gasket, if it is still under warranty I would make them check the compression, If its a head gasket, you want to replace it under warranty if you can or at least get it on record that it was suspected because it will get worse if thats whats wrong. Other signs of a head gasket might be loss of coolant, sweet smell in the exhaust, oil in the coolant, coolant in the oil. Hopefully its just electrical.
