My part time light comes on and off randomly while driving. It stays on while parked. It also comes on while in 4hi. If I hold down my shifter it will turn off. My shifter on has on it 2hi, 4hi, N, and 4low. Any thoughts to what is going on here?

Yeah its that switch thingy in the T-case. I have the same problem except mine stays on ALL the time. The Stealership quoted $400 to replace. Screw that!

I just live with it.

Linkage is probably in need of adjustment (as suggested). t-case position sensor might be out, too. Search the forums for multiple mentions of it. It's pretty common.

You guys are all wrong. That 4hi light is a switch in/on the t-case that communicates with your computer. Even thought you do not see the light and the KJ runs just fine, well you are missing something. When this $25.00 part does not work like it should, you are loosing torque and some power in your 4wheel drive system. Ask Troy TJKJ2000 and he will tell you about it.
Get it fixed. It is not that hard to do. I did mine 2 times and I just lost my 3rd about 5 weeks ago
