How do I gain access to change out the bulbs? I don't want to tear anything up in the process. Also just want to confirm front map lights are 192 bulbs and the rear cargo lights are 214-2?

TIA

Very carefully pry the lens out with a small screwdriver. Extra care for the map lens, they are only little plastic legs that hold them in. They are routinely broken by techs when changing bulbs.

Are there LED replacements for them?

yes thats what I'm in the process of doing. Making everything Inside and out LED and adding two LED lights to light up under my rear shelf.

can the leds be purchased from places like pepboys, or do they need to be ordered?

IF the bulbs types I listed above are correct, I have seen them in stores before. Try all the part stores frist tho before ordering. I did that same thing to my mustang and I had to go to several different stores to get all of them.

I'm playing led's, resistors, and led holders, a little solder and we'll see what happens

I looked around on google which pointed me towards Amazon, they have plenty of people on there with the lights you need.

Actually I placed a order with them last night for another project. I ordered a pair of white LED 192 bulbs for the map lights. After that Im going to order the ones for the rear, license plate, maker lights then move on to the turn signals and taillights.

I bought a mess of LED's off of Ebay, direct from Hong Kong. 50- 10mm for like 15 bucks. I just ordered some chrome mounts for 9 bucks. I'll start experimenting with different set ups and see what would work best. :SOMBRERO:

I replaced all my lights with led lights but then the dimming/fade out function wont work so lights will be glowing softly when ignition is on.
In the end i put a normal light in the cargo-light since this is the easiest to change if it should fail and now things are working as expected.

Installing a diode should fix that problem, its getting back feed. My lights under my dash do that however I like the soft glow of the light. My dimmer still works too.
