I'm planning on getting new tires size 245/70/16 in the near future. Do I need to worry about any transmission or rear end problems going to a bigger size tire?

nope...you can even get 245/75/R16 with out worrying...once you get to 265/75/R16 is when you need to re-gear.

when i went to the 245-70-16 from the stock 235-70-16, i didnt notice any difference. but when i went up to the 235-85-16, is when my transmission wanted to shift back and forth between 3rd and 4th constantly on the highway. thats when i went to the dealer and had the computer fixed for the correct tire size/revolutions per minute of the tires

im happy with the 3.73 and the 235-85, i just have to decide if it woukld be worth it to upgrade my stuff to 4.10 on the IFS, nope, im happy how it is :) ill just wait till i do SFA in the future, im sticking with the 3.73's right now :P

Thanks for the info guys! I assume I don't have to mess with the computer or gears if just going from 235/70/16 to 245/70/16?

Are you stock, or do you have a lift? I want to get the same tire size, probably in a bf goodrich AT, but was wondering how bad the slight rubbing is with this size tire on a stock vehicle(as stated in the applicable tire size chart elsewhere on this site).Apparently the 235's do not rub at all. My sport came with 225. So, do you get much rub with the 245's?

The tire size change seems to be less noticable with the 6 speed.

I have 3/8" plates I fabbed for up tops and 3/8" clevis rings below I also fabbed up. It sits just a slight bit higher(1/16") in the front than the rear. No rubbing of any kind, even at full lock forward or reverse. :SOMBRERO:
