Ok so here's my problem. I have a 2003 KJ ren. with a frankenlift 2, 30" generl grabber AT2's and boulder bar rock rails. It just hit me that my jack will not lift my KJ high enough if I get a flat on the road. What kind of of jacks will lift it, from where do I jack, and where do I buy the jack to lift it? PS I want to avoid a hi-lift, I just dont trust them, I hear they are not so safe. PS lets be honest, do to being broke I spend 90% of my time on road. Help me out please!!!! -Seth |

Check your local wrecking yard for a nice big scissor jack from a pickup truck. They will usually fit under the rear seat and are plenty beefy and go high enough for a lifted KJ. Also work well for most off road use too. |

or a lift kit for your current jack. My Mother who is 78 has a hard time climbing up in mine anymore. Took some treated 4X4s, a treated 2 X 12 and made her a step , plus a lift for my jack light enough to carry around but also heavy enough to use for other things as well, such as a little boost for me when doing a tuneup, changing oil, working on a lift , even threw in a ditch the other day after a pickup got cross ways was enough so he didn't drop clear in and made it out! it's about 5.25 inches tall and about 18 inches long just another thought. |

Is plenty strong and plenty cheap. There are bottle jacks at Vato Zone for like 30 bucks that work as well. I like the 4 x 4 because it gets me back to my redneck roots

They didn't even cost me anything because they were leftover from my dad's deck project on his house. |

I carry my HiLift Off-Road base all the time - it's big enough stable and the stock jack will fit on top of it. |

can one lift from a front hitch that is bolted with 6 bolts? or does it damage the integrity? |

I carry an 18" long piece or 4x6 douglas fir in the Jeep and place the stock jack on top of it. The chunk-o-fir also works as wheel chock, a seat, a wheel ramp, and in a pinch can be used for fire wood. |

A buddy of mine with a Frankenlifted Libby uses the stock scissor jackstand with blocks of wood underneath it. Fine for level ground. Myself I trust a well maintained Hi-Lift jack but you'd have to fabricate a way to lift the Libby. Lifting from a hitch receiver is questionable. There are cheaper "knock off" Hi-Lifts out there that are dangerous and tend to fold under weight. |

When I installed my frankenlift II I also had the same problem. My jack just did not lift the KJ off the ground enough the get the tire off. PROBLEM. SOLUTION. I took a 6x6 block and cut it to a 12" length and kept it in the back of the KJ |
