Just want to give a shout out to Marlin @ Jeepin by Al. Over Christmas break i had an A-arm failure. Same as others where the breakage occured at the weld where the tube/arm connected to the hub that houses the ball joint.

Talked to Marlin about it and they sent me a new set of arms, Gen 4.5, within 2 days! BTW, the arm that broke was a Gen 1 and lasted me 3 years of much hard offroading.

1st class customer support with quality parts!!!

Yes Marlin is the best
even to the point of helping people who have failures ( even though very few) when someone else owned JBA!! Great guy.

They have went through a lot of revisions over the years to be a great product for sure.

No matter what some like to say everytime this comes up.

This is a great customer service story. The aftermarket warranty for most performance parts is nil. To correct a problem after what the O.P. states is 3 years of hard off-roading and before the present ownership was in place is above and beyond, in my book. I wonder how the awesome factory ball joints and arms would have held up under the same circumstances? :ROTFL:

not to defend marlin, which I'd like to

and not to defend JL, which I'd like to

but JL does wheel his with the stock arms with good results

however we have had stock arm balljoint separations

and one of my balljoints fell out in my hand when I removed them from the vehicle to put on the 4.5's

so both sides have their associated risks

Very cool that he is replacing them and quickly.

I'd recommend others with the early versions think strongly about replacing them and keeping them for spares, to not wait for this to happen, even if it saves you a little money. $350 is not worth the risk.
