My dad has an 05 renegade and wants an evic for his b-day next weekend. I know there were some electronic changes on the later models, but I'm not sure what fits what. Theres an evic on ebay from a 2004 liberty part number 56010520AD. Will this work?

I'm sorry, I know this stuff has been asked before, but I'm asking again! :D

Just found this on page 12 of that last link I posted:

"If you want the temp readout to work on a 2004+ KJ, you need a 2004+ EVIC."

Marlon later on said it doesnt have to do with the bus but the way the signal is transmitted.

But either way, that means that the 2004 will work with the 2005. Great! Now i just need the seller to confirm that it has the little pigtail and I'm all set. Thanks!

Yes, the BCM is different between the years.

at the end does the EVIC work on your father's Renegade ?
I have the same model Renegade, and I'm looking for the correct EVIC for it

nope! Temp never worked. If you have 05+, be sure to get 05+. They can be really hard to find too.
