I also have them on our 02 sport (bought it used and they came with it). They are pretty much useless. The KJ isnt high enough to need a step, they hang down too far when off road, and worst off all they get the back of your pants dirty when you get in and out! They are coming off soon and replaced with boulder bars. My 06 Ranger 4x4 also has them stock and they are coming off too. |

Stupid question, but what does the term "nerf bar" mean? I assume this refers to the tubular step bar that comes standard on the 02-04 Renegades. But what's with the term "nerf"? I agree, by the way, that they serve no purpose at all other than looks. Although, my kids like it as an easier way to climb into the back seat. For adults, it's useless. |

I think they originally had to do with atv racers they were used in quads to keep the other guys tires from getting caught in between your front and back tires but I could be wrong. |
