| Post subject: | Racing Bucket Seats |
Has anyone retrofitted some nice racing seats with like a four point harness??? The libby is pretty sporty, even with a 2.5" lift and A/T's and i occasionally find myself sliding accross the factory buckets (not to mention that they're not the most comfortable for my monthly trips to NH (6+ hours)). I'm looking for something that's black, cloth or leather, that will fit on the factory seat rails and still slide back and fourth, up and down with the factory electric controls. Thanks, -Savage- |

I have put many seats in alot of cars they dont belong in... I have Accura Interga leathers in my ranger. I have also done many cars with aftermarket race seats. there are 2 pieces to most seats in a car... the seat frame and the sliders. The sliders are very specific to the car becasue they fit the shape of the floor and need to fit and line up perfectly to bolt back in and not bind. The frames on most seats are simple flat cages... if they are narrower than your sliders just take some 1/8" X 1" flat bar and lay them accross the frame and set it on the sliders where the seat belongs and tack it in, take the seat out and fully weld it up. I guess all I can say is just find a set of nice seats you like, get a set of extra set of OEM sliders if you dont want to alter your original seats. and just start welding! I have not looked for KJ seat sliders and i have a feeling that there are no adapters that will just BOLT on. |

Corbeau (http://www.corbeau.com) sells awesome seats and has mounts designed specifically for the KJ. The mounts (E1500F for driver's, E1501F for passenger's) are $85.75 for each side direct from Corbeau. Reclining seats range from $219 for the "Sport Seat" uncovered to $649 for the VX2000 in leather. They also sell non-reclining seats, but I can't imagine wanting those in a KJ. |

Freedom, Thanks for the info. Will i then need to get belts, or do they come with the seat? |

Real racing seats would be a pain to get in and out of as you sit in them not on them. The sides are high enough that your thigh belts are almost level with the top of your thighs where they come through the slots. You have to lift yourself in and out of them. |

Freedom had the right idea...something reclinable, comfortable and stylish with enough scoop to hold you in and the option to run a four or five point harness... |

nice find freedom... i bet you could take those sliders and they will work with other seats too, and most aftermarket seats are somewhat universally designed. |

Yea, that would be cool, but it sure wouldn't be cheap...especially at almost $400.00 a seat for a decent one. Looks like i'll be goint for my skids, tow hooks, strap, hi-lift and accessories before i get any more lights or racing seats. Ugghhh...then i gotta figure out where i'm gonna find the money for the intake and exhaust...Wow....i've only had this truck for like 7 months and i've already got obscene amounts of money tied up in it with plans to spen even more!!! like someone here said JEEP= Just Empty Every Pocket....i can't image what i'm going to end up spending when these SFA kits start coming out...assuming they're legal in NJ, if not i'll just have to move |

I think you meant http://www.mastercraftseats.com/. www.mastercraft.com is the site of Mastercraft the boat company, not the seat maker. |
