| Post subject: | OME lift parts |
Well I plan on lifting my kj, hopefully in the near future, my plan is OME 927's and RSX 17505's for the front and OME 948's and RSX 17004's (if available) for the rear. So I went to a local offroad shop to see what kind of prices they had and if they could get a hold of the 17004's. The guy tells me that "you can't use the 17505's with the 927's because the 17505's are stock size and using them with the 927's would eliminate all of the downward travel." I know this set-up is highly recommended by many people on here, so is this guy just a moron or what? He didn't seem to know much about the liberty's. He also tried to tell me that a Rockcrawler would be a better lift anyway! He did make a call and said that he couldn't get the RSX's, so does anyone know where I can still get some? Any input here would be greatly appreciated. -Brian |

Just goes to show you that a bunch of people on a great site like LOST knows way more than most 4WD shops! Rock krawler is the WORST by the way !!! ALL front shocks are the same length, thats all you can get, now for the rear of course you need the longer ones. Try JeepinbyAl I think he got pretty much the end of the Ranchos but call him quick and find out. I hope you don't plan on using him to do your lift! |

They are listed in every parts book as struts. Shocks do not have a coil |

No they are in fact shocks you have some to learn yet, lots of cars do in deed have front struts due to the design of the suspension, our suspension just places the SHOCK inside of the coil spring for a simple explanation Now back to the show Oh and don't be changing what I write, |

If it is 80 bucks for TWO ome springs that is an awesome price. Since everywhere is at least $145+, I'm sure: 1) They are NOT OME and he's going to rip you off for some other crap 2) He won't be able to get them mysteriously...or 3) It will be the price for each. Stick with all j's, jeepin' by al, teraflex for the bumpstops, rancho's wherever you can find rsx, and whatever else you see recommended repeatedly on this site. Generally places that don't carry what you want will sell you what they've got as a direct replacement, but direct seems to have become synonomous for "the one I carry". |

Sure tell him to write those up for 83 bucks for 2! tell him to order extra and we want to pay in full upfront! We'll get a lift party together somewhere I am sure! |

there's no way those ome's are 85 for 2, marlin carrys them for just under 80 each i'm sure that guy meant each + 12ish bucks shipping UPS ground would be about the same as 85x2 from your local guy if he's really sellin ome 948's for 85 a pair i'm in on that group buy hahaha |
