So for about 2 weeks I have noticed that when I pull into my garage and shut off my engine that there is a fairly sweet smell coming from my exhaust. At first I thought it was some rubber burning somehwhere, I recently changes some hangers and figured it was them. Then the following weekend we went hunting and at one part I was walking behind the libby and saw some blueish smoke coming from the exhaust. When we got home I checked the fluid and all look good. I changed the oil and it was still looking fairly new. I checked the antifreeze and it looks normal too.
My thought is perhaps the PCV valve needs to be swapped out. I have never done that and am sitting at about 110k. Any ideas what it might be or do you think I nailed it on the head? Oh I also swapped out all my filters with the exception of my fuel.

if the pcv doesn't correct your issue. do a fuel pressure check to see if you have a leaking injector.

Bluish smoke is usually oil. Black smoke/residue in exhuast would be excess fuel. White would be H2O/antifreeze. Change PVC, my help, if not, then maybe rings or valve seals (even though usually just smoke on start up). Then I'm old school so it maybe something totally different

Well I pulled out the old valve and WOW was it nasty. Popped in the new one super easy. I did notice that the hose is a bit big though so I will probably pick up one of those too. Any ideas what type that is? Size and if there is a specific part number for it?
Also I still have some smoke coming out of the tailpipe and it is more noticeable now, lol. It is white and the engine was not cold but I will keep an eye on it and let you know tomorrow if it gets worse or if it goes away once it is warmed up...I wonder if it is just that.

So I have been keeping an eye on it and I do not smoke anymore but I still smell
I have noticed that I am loosing some oil, most likely burning it off, hence the smell. It is not bad or excessive but it is there. I am sitting at 110,000 miles.
I am debating trying some of that engine restore. Anyone have any experiences with that? Any ideas what the problem could be? Would you worry about your KJ if it was you?
There is no off noise, like knocking or anything like that.
Now i feel like :5SHOTS: lol.
