I am going to be in Utah in may and was wondering if anybody on here has done any of the trails in this area. Any information on the trails would be helpful. I know they are trying to close this area to motorized travel And I sure would like to see some of it while it is still possible.

There's a lot of exploring to be done in the swell... I've only been through the stretch between green river and the hans flat ranger station. I also checked out Goblin Valley. You shoul dbe fine on any of the trails there... just be aware of which ones cross rivers or streams. Those can be brutal..

Gary,

I just did some quick searching, and it looks like National Geographic's Trails Illustrated series of maps has one that covers San Rafael Swell. Here's their info on it. Looks like you can also buy it at Amazon or REI. I've always been real pleased with the Trails Illustratd series of maps, whether for ATVing, backpacking or just day hiking exploring.

Here's another National Geographic map of the area.
Here's another option.
Here's yet another option.
You could also go with standard USGS maps of the area.

Also found some on-line overall view maps:

Hope this helps.
