Well I was out checking my radiator for cracks since I noticed a drip a couple days ago, the drip has since stopped, but I started my engine to see if the leak could be pressure related, it wasn't. After I started the engine I was looking around the engine bay just checking things out when I notice the radiator fan isn't turning. I check the plug to make sure its plugged in all the way, checked the wires for broken one, but it still didn't turn on. It was at about half way to operating temp when I shut it off.
Checked the fuse, didn't look blown. Whats my problem here?
And how much am I lookin at to replace it?

Chances are there's nothing wrong with it. It doesn't turn on unless the engine temp calls for it to do so.

two easy tests....turn on the a/c, fan should kick on. Turn a/c off and let it run to operating temp. Wait for fan to turn on.

In 50 degree weather, it takes about 25 minutes of idleing for my fan to kick on.

If it does not turn on, check the wires, and the temp sensor.

Wheres the temp sensor??

I drove to the store and back, and then let it idle with the ac on and checked the fan, no turning.

If you're not overheating, don't worry about it. It will turn on when it feels like it.

If it is the fan clutch it will cost you $126.99 at the stealership. Plus labor. The part number is: 55038106-AA. Now that is for an 05, I don't know if yours is the same or not. It should be, but Murphy's Law might have something to do here!

Strange, I thought he was talking about the electric cooling fan.

My fan does it in reverse. It comes on right away and stays on until I hit about 40mph. Strange!

my elec fan rarely ever comes on, it does (and should) turn on when you turn it to the * ac or defrost selections on the AC knob

if it doesn't come on with that, check the relay, don't remember which relay it is but there is one, could be a bad relay or corroded relay terminal

use the FSM and find the cooling fan relay, then swap the fan relay with one that uses the same model relay and retest the AC to trigger the fan to come on

if it works, pick up a new relay at the parts store and replace the one that is no good

do this before you go messing around with a temp sensor etc.

Pull the connector off the fan relay, circled in the pic below, and if the connector looks a little melted it could be that relay which is common. The dealership has a updated version for about $50,do not get a aftermarket one as they are total junk, only get the updated OEM one with the oversized heatsink.

Ok, I will check the relay tomorrow and swap it for a known working one and see if it changes anything.
Then I'll drop it in R and see if the fan comes on and swap fuses and stuff.
If none of that stuff helps I'll try and take apart the fan housing and clean it out and lube it up and see if it works then.
If not then the local pull-a-part has a couple kjs I'll snag a fan off of.

i went wheeling with some 'orlando jeep club' guys yesterday at hardrock 4x4 park. on the way home everything was good , until i got into some traffic ( on the turnpike near i-4) i felt the a/c stop looked down and noticed the temp gauge was up at the the 3/4 mark... pulled over and started checking things , yep no fan motor.... hot as heck too.. after we let it sit and cool down for about 20 mins we took off ( about 10 miles to home) running the inside heater fan on high ,, windows down , kept it at 55 mph.the temp gauge never made it above the 1/2 mark  sweet made it home . 10 mm wrench to pull the fan motor housing , spring clip on the fan blade , 3 10mm screws hold the motor in place... now i got the fan motor in hand - about 10 minutes :SOMBRERO: ... on the back of the motor i bent the 6 little tabs back, opened the motor up, wiggled the brushes out... found they were all stuck .. not making any contact with the armature . little dawn dish soap, hot water and a tooth brush cleaned everything up . reassembled and reinstalled . started the jeep up ,, turned on the a/c ... HA !! YES!! fan runs  only took a half hour too!!! i think this just might become part of a yearly maintenance thing for me. sorry i didn't take any pics , the battery was dead from taking pics all day.

Went to hardrock and didn't invite me?!?!?! Lol

But that sounds easy enough. I'm off tonight so I might try and do that today. Haven't had any overheating issues though, even without the fan working.
