Our Cj needs a new gas tank and we are trying to decide between a steel or a plastic replacement.

Our jeep was originally used as a snow plow upin Arrowhead so we are assuming that is why it is leaking.

Any suggestions or pros and cons of either?

Im kinda confused as to why this is in the kj forum?

I would get a steel case. There are tons of aftermarket ones out there and they have a bladder on the inside of them. Very nice i think.

This question is here because this person is not only a KJ owner but an all around Jeep person like most of us that own more than one type of Jeep vehicle.

As far as the ank question it would be a matter of what you are tring to do with this Jeep. Off road (plastic), show off and drive (go back to what came on it)

No harm done. I posted here, because I respect the information many here have to give. While I know this is a KJ forum, I know many here have other off roading experience.

Thanks for the information about the gas tanks. Yes we do take it off roading and have many jeeps. I tried to get Jeff to use the gas tank out of the jeepster but it didn't work.

Hi guys,

Do you have a gas skid for it? If not, I'd go metal. Just seems sturdier.
