Hey all, anyone had problems with the back window opening randomly? Scary. I came out of the video store the other day and my back hatch was open... luckily my sub, tool box and headlamp were still there. Then yesterday I was driving down the road and my hatch opened up by itself... this aleviated the idea that the video store incident was a product of me accidently hitting the back hatch opener on my key remote.

Thoughts?

Sometimes they do not shut well. Any gunk in the gasket on the door frame keeps it from latching well, too.

Mine did that when the original battery went bad. Hop in; turned the key, and the back window opened. No go but still an interesting new feature. I'm told things act strange when the body computers don't get good-enough voltage. My dentist got rid of his land rover when everything electrical wen goofy. Dealership charged to fix every individual problem until he traded it in... I bet they stuck a battery in it then.

I had that happen about a year or so ago. I believe I had to have the rear latch replaced as there was some corrosion starting on some of the electrical portions of it causing that to happen. I had that replaced and haven't had a problem since. I never saw the recall for it, just had it replaced. If I remember it wasn't very expensive to have to replace.
Funny story, it happened to me once when I hit the lock button on the remote the window opened. I was like "I didn't hit the rear window open button?" Then I went out in the pouring rain, tried again to lock it and same results. I had to shut the glass and then lock it with the manual lock on the door so I didn't use the remote :) It was really weird to have it happen while driving too. I had the dogs in the back at the time and they were happy as heck that they had all that fresh air for awhile til I got stopped!
