I checked out the Jeep Jamboree page... their prices are ridicules!! It's way much cheaper to get a guide book if you don't know the trails and do them with your friends.

Speaking of the Guidebook, we are preparing and publishing their 2010 Guidebook for them and it should publish (in Flash format with a print-on-demand option) late next week so stay tuned. :)

Umm...... permit fees are part of that and profits go towards fighting legal battles with SUWA and Mordor on the Potomac. Each EJS raises $50K - $60K for land issues for various local and national orgs.

Just my opinion... still way too high, and like I said before... you can do most of the trails on your own for free and with a smaller less regimented group doing more trails in a day than you can do with them. If you're really into wheeling and are concerned... join a local 4x4 club or an OHV organization in your state or on a national level... cost is usually $30.00 or so a year. AZ LOST JEEPS dues were $35.00 this year... the entire amount was donated to ASA4WDC.

Three days in either Moab for $275.00 per person, or three days in Ouray for $250.00 per person is way too high for doing these trails you can do with your friends. From what I've seen, these things are for newbies, or people with a lot of money in their pockets that don't get out much. The Jeep Jamboree folks are raking in big $$$ off these events.
