Renagade Dragon on the board here will be the first outsider to install a harness that I made up for him . ##1 If doing a 2004 KJ & up you must use a Evic from 2004 up!! Have been reading about people having problems with the correct resposes from the BCM to the Evic or the Evic drains the battery if not driven for a few days. Ok, Here goes... The Auto mirror has 5 wires from the connector(plug) & the Evic 4 wires. I have to give credit to KJ Anthony, by reading his instructions this was born. Follow his instuctions except for the wiring. If they installed it at the factory that way so can we. Going to need without tools Evic plug, Mirror plug, 9 red run & taps18/22 , 9 wires conectors, Elec tape & 58 feet of #20 wire auto grade. Looking in the KJ manual in section 8w-80 connector pin-outs... Find & copy these pin-outs C308 Underbody Side Automatic Day/Night Mirror Compass Mini-Trip Computer If you look spots #1 & 6 are empty on the Evic & #6 & 7 on the Mirror connectors. You'll start out with 9 wires but are going to end up with 7 wires, were going to splice 2 together. The ones needed to be spliced together will be mark with ** On the MIRROR **C-1 to C308 #8 Fused Ing..... **C-2 to C308 #12 Clean Ground.... C-3 to C308 #2 Back up lamp... C-4 to C308 #6 Auto Mirror +...... C-5 to C308 #13 Auto Mirror -......... On the Evic C-2 to C308 #14 PCI Bus.... C-3 to C308 #3 Fused.... **C-4 to C308 #12 Clean Ground..... **C-5 to C308 #8 Fused Ing. #1 So put a 1ft of wire on both C-1 & C-2 on the mirror with the connectors. #2 Put 8ft on the remaining 7 wires with the connectors. #3 Take C-1 on the Mirror (short wire) & C-5 on the Evic run & tap the 2 together. #4 Take C-2 on the Mirror (short wire) & C-4 on the Evic, run & tap the 2 together. #5 Test the 7 wires using a light tester. Got good wires? Put 1 inch masking tape on each end & mark them with the C308 spot number. Make sure you mark the wire with the right corsponding number. #6 Tape up your harness, but don't make it too stiff. Hard part.. #7 Remove the Negative battery cable 10mm always when doing any elec work. #8 Remove the upper panel above the rear hatch window & lower panel across back. #9 Remove rear drivers D-Piller..You must remove the rear passenger seat belt. Open seatbelt access door & remove upper torx bolt 45 I believe & a 16mm on the floor. Put seat belt through the acess door. There is 1 clip that runs under the side rear driver door trim pop it up so you don't break the clip on the D-piller. Remove the D panel in the back exposing C308. #10 Remove the front driver upper seat nut 16mm, be careful with the belt cover. #11 Remove the upper panel between the front door & rear door on the drives side, this will allow you more access to the headliner on the drivers side. If you have big arms remove the front drivers A-piller & handle 5.5mm or 20 torx. #12 Pop the headliner down in the back, theres a clip in middle. If you noticed the factory headliner harness from C308 runs down the drivers side. Your going to run your harness down the driver side to the Evic hole. #13 Run harness, did this with 2 people. Harness in place?.. #14 The Underbody Side (Male Connector) is where were tapping into. Using these DIRECTIONS & the Pin-outs of C308 Underbody Side. Then run & tap the 7 wires into the underside of C308...or #14A Have seen a Renegrade not have all the wires running to C308. They run to C308 & to a accessoires plug, but out of the same main harness. You will tap in before the 2 plugs. So using the pinout guide for C308 write down the colors for Example KJ 2002 C308 spots 2 BR/LG 3 PK 6 TN/OR 8 WT/BK 12 BK/LG 13 YL/BK 14 YL/VT Use the color code for your year, know for sure 05 is different. #15 Put Neg battery cable on, but don't tighten...Test your Evic & Mirror. Everything good?? #16 Tape up the wires taps. #17 Reinstall all the panels & seat belts..... #18 Tighten Neg battery cable THIS THE WAY IT'S CONNECTED AT THE FACTORY......Sorry long winded...Any???? Ask Away..... Chris....Creator of the Splimigrade...Fixed it
