Last night window reg number 11 gave up its ghost. I made the awful mistake of trying to roll down the rear window. Duck tape holding it up now until I can get her to the body shop. 25 bucks later three of my four windows will be locked upright.

Holy crap! 11   I would be SO p*ss*d! You could bet Chrysler would be buying that sucker back from me regardless of it was out of warranty or not! Something is seriously wrong if you keep busting regs like that.

Isn't that a record? Don't you win something for your trouble? Unbelieveable! If mine were that bad, I'd have sold my KJ by now, as it would be useless to me w/out being able to roll down the windows. |

You should search your local junk yards and just replace the whole dang doors.

Use this fix: www.steigerperformance.com and never replace another regulator. Steel carrier rather than plastic, since it's just the little spriral that the worm gear feeds into that breaks. Replace the broken part, not the whole unit - like Chrysler makes you do. |

I took the jeep to the bodyshop this morning. Forty bucks later (they were so cool I paid them extra), the window is blocked up. While there I spoke with the owner about the aftermarket fix. Come next closing, I am going to order the kit and experiment with one. I am at a strange point in my kj relationship. I am SOOO DONE with Chrysler, yet I love the kj. Hence, crap like this is just part of the ownership experience. |

since you've already had so many replaced, I'd suggest removing the door panel and taking a good look at what you got in there. There's no telling what version of glass/ carrier Chrysler has put in there by now. The fix is very straightforward. In fact, if you feel like taking a road trip from Pineville, I'll even help you tear it u. . . I mean, fix it up.
