Searched the forum for answers with no luck.

Got an P0700 code the other day and the trans went into limp mode. Shut off the engine and the trans reset itself and I could drive home. Well today, trans went back into limp mode and had to shut down and restart it again in order to get home. Still getting the P0700 code (general TCM code) with no other codes. The only thing I noticed prior to the code was a hard shift into OD a couple of times. Checked the fluids, seem high, but no reason that they should be high. Trans was service 30K ago and fluid level was fine. I have not had any water crossings to get water into the trans.

Any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

the P0700 code is a generic code for a trans problem

you will need to attach a starscan from your local dealer to get an in depth error code, i had that code come up and my Trans was cactus, the hard facing of the gears came of and blocked up my transmission

Any one know what part this is? Vacuum line running from the throttle body to behind the engine, possibly to the transmission. Found it hanging down near the power steering pump off its mount. Recently had the coolant system flushed by the dealer. Looks like they forgot to put it back on its mount and also found a hose clip sitting onto of the steering fluid reservoir cap. Dont know how that didnt fall into the engine and cause damage.

That is the purge solenoid. It's related to the fuel evap system. Probably has nothing to do with your P0700

Thanks, after getting my manual to work again on the computer and searching it for a few hours I finally identified the part.

Keep us up to date on this. It seems like there's been a small rash of people with p0700 codes who are near the 100k mile mark. I'm at 82,000 and I swear to christ I can't afford a new transmission.
