My rear bumper and rock rails that were sprayed with line-x do not have a lifetime warranty.
I went in today to see if they could fix some spots on my bumper and he said that there is no warranty on it. I then proceeded to tell him that I am glad he told me now so when I get a front bumper, roof rack like RL's or boilers, and when I want to line my fenders, that I would do it with rhino liner. He then said that he would fix it tomorrow morning but this would be the only time.

So anyone else had this problem?

I haven't tried to take it back yet. I'm in the same situation. Rear bumper done, Front is waiting for me to finish the welding.

I'll bet he will touch it up for me.

I have a friend at work who has his silverados bed done in line-x, the other day we helped another friend move a hot tub with the truck, i noticed his bed lining was starting to chip and scar in some spots, i told him he should go get it sprayed again under warranty and he said he's tried twice and they deny him each time, they tell him it's not covered. It makes me not want to employ line-x's services if they won't stand by their warranty claim.

Dose Line-X advertise a lifetime warranty? If so, do you have to pay extra for it?

I would say do not... the only thing they warranty is their truck beds and those have a lifetime warranty. Everything else, accessories the guy said ( bumpers, fenders, rails etc) are not covered at all... due to the fact that it chips off due to some other factor. I am pissed and will probably just go to our downtown location and be like hey you want my business then fix this!

what bout that other company, raptor? is it? how about them, do they offer any sort of warranty

rockrails i understand, bumper from midline down, understood, but everything else should get less wear and tear than the bed of a truck and should be covered

Gesh, I’ve seen my Dad dump large landscaping rock into his line-x’d truck and later use his front-end loader to slide those boulders out. I was amazed that the line-x didn’t chip, peel, or anything. I thought the stuff was bomb proof.

where my shackle is attached to the rl bumper, it chipped it off there... I have no idea how, and then also on the left side of the hitch part it has chipped off and showing surface rust.

Like anything else prep is a key factor in that.

Also I highly doubt any place no matter what bedliner used will warranty anything but a actual truck bed,the bumpers and rails would be a money loosing venture to warranty. Then again bedlining rock rails is pointless as it will always get scraped off no matter what if you actually use them.

Got that in writing?

Like anything else in the world today if you do not have it in black and white you have nothing, word of mouth is long gone.

I had Rhino Liner in my truck bed and atop the rails. That stuff really can't be beat, as long as the surface is prepped properly and the proper amount of layers are applied with sufficieant dry time in between coats. I suspect many of these places are in hurry-up mode when they apply the Line-X. They're probably rushing the job because it is time consuming and not applying the proper amount of coats. I know my Rhino Liner was 4 coats when all said and done, and it was a little over 1/8 inch thick! I couldn't do anything to damage that stuff. It's all I'd use. as far as I'm concerned it's the best on the market.

Line-X is one coat, either 1/8" thick or 1/4" thick. The 2 chemicals for Line-X don't get mixed until about 4"-6" after leaving the special spray gun and 2-3 seconds later it is 100% dry.

well i went by there today and there was a diff guy that worked there and he said bring it to me and I will fix it. don't worry this stuff is warrantied to an extent. he said if you are in an accident... obviously not covered, but if a little peels off, like it did on mine then yeah it's okay!

That sounds fair. Like I said, that stuff is strong when it’s done right

IF they definitely said that, no exaggerating or misunderstanding, then word of mouth passing it along to everybody you know and let them know you plan to spread the word about their failure to back up their words.
