Hey all,
Did a search on this and didn't find much...some talk about Napa pads was about it.

I got new brakes from Sears Auto about a year ago and they have been horrible ever since.
I was in a fix and had to go there. Anyway, I need to change the front out...they replaced them for me once free of charge, but they still make grinding/squeeling noises and Im sick of hearing it.

Just going to change the front for now. Any thoughts on
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PWR-Z36-856/
or
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EBC-UD856/

Thats about the most I want to spend on pads right now. Any other suggestions that will be as good or better that I can pick up locally?

Thanks

I have some pads from Autozone on mine and have not had any problems with them. I do not remember the exact name of them though :( I know they are not the Reybestos, I think they are just the Autozone Gold...or something like that.

Chances are the EBC will squeal.Squealing does not necessarily mean anything is wrong.

I have used Napa pads in the past and been very happy with them. I believe they are made by Raybestos.

eba yellow stuff up front and ebc green stuff in back... FYI squealing is generally a result of brake dust... spray your house in where your brakes are every time you clean your jeep... works like a charm

Pad wear is were brake dust comes from, really has nothing to do with pads making noises.

yes pad wear causes dust the build of dust leads to squeaking... n if it doesnt explain why my truck squeaks when i dont clean my wheels/ brakes for a while but disappears after i do

They're Duralast from Autozone. I just put rear pads on my Renegade last week. They have Duralast, Duralast Gold, and then Duralast Gold CMax. The rear ones are 20 bucks, 38, and 60 and they all have lifetime warranty on them which is cool. The fronts are a couple of dollars more. They're 25, 43, and 60.

A couple weeks ago I put NAPA Adaptive One's on the front and Ultra Premium on the rear. I did a 2500 mile road trip shortly after.

MY fronts show more pad dust than whatever was on there before. Next time out I'll put Ultra Premiums on front also.

Has anyone run Adaptive pads for an extended length of time? I'm going to keep an eye on mine. . . at this rate of dust accumulation I don't see how they're going to last nearly as long as an OEM pad.

can't say about the pads but I ran the Adaptive One shoes in the rear of my KJ for 60,000miles and they looked brand new still, lots of dust but only about 1/32" of wear. And yes they where adjusted often,at least twice a year.
