So on my way to lunch, I hear a clicking noise coming from what seems to be the front drivers side wheel-well. The sound reminds be of tiny marbles or metal balls hitting each other, thus the clicking. The sound is dependent on my speed, so there is a lot of sporadic clicking at higher speeds and then it's only a couple times when I was parking. I can definitely tell it likes to click a bunch at higher speeds though, roughly 30mph and above. Any ideas?

x2 CV joint most likely the cause. if it gets louder when you turn then that's usually what a noise like that is. Sometimes you can ride a CV joint for a while.... I ran my old honda prelude like that for months cus I was young, paying my way through college and paying a mortgage too. I learned that letting it go too long was crazy. It broke a block away from my house after I had saved up for the part and had an appointment to have it installed in 2 days. when one breaks you are stranded in a front drive car it won't move at all. I had to walk home and call AAA to tow it in to the shop.

I see that you have installed OME HD 927 and 948 Springs. Do you have a heavy front bumpber on the KJ?
You are most likely sitting too hight out of mechanical specs and your CV & Half shaft is under alot of stress. I had the same spring setup as you and I was sitting way too high for my CV angle. I had replaced 6 drivers side CV & Half shafts before I took off my lift. I shuld have put on the front ARB bumpber to weigh the KJ down closer to factory CV specs.

I am sure others on here will say the same thing while others will disagree. But the fact is, IFS suck and so do the DC CV's.
I know the clicking sound very well. When I hit roughly 30MPH and Higher, the sound was more pronounced. At 63MPH I would start to get a clicking and whopping sound, and when I would come to a slow stop, I would hear a groaning noise, and a metal on metal rubbing sound.

Don't drive on it too long and at high speeds. You will cause big time damage if it gives out when you are driving.

What's odd is now, I don't hear a thing. It can be so annoying sometimes. :furious:
I don't have an aftermarket bumper weighing it down but I also didn't install anything to add height besides the springs so I assumed I was in the clear for angles. To be fair though I haven't really looked at the CV's angle. Mine hadn't gotten to grinding, it was always just clicking. But then, as I said, it's now gone. I rode all the way home and nothing. Been driving it since, at highway speeds, and nothing. I seriously doubt it was a rock somewhere, but at least now I know what to look at first when it comes to clicking. Does this necessarily mean I'm in the clear, or that I need to watch this closely? I drive a lot since I have work and am a full-time student, which includes highway.
