I just washed the jeep today. the other day, my driver side floor was soaking wet.

the codes are P 0700 and P 0836

Any ideas what they are, they jeep seems like it is in a low gear and will not shift out of it and I am parking it until I can address the problem.

Thanks, Steve

P0700 appears to be a standard code. Transmission Control System Malfunction.

P0836, the best I can tell is a 4wd circuit malfunction.

Do you have any other lights illuminated??

nope. i washed my car today and washed the engine and it has been wet out lately so im going to let it sit in the garage for the night and possibly tomorrow

also, the fan is not turning on so my engine is overheating at the moment.

Just for the sake of doing it, I would check all my fuses if you dont have anything better to do. Just to make sure the water didnt cause something to short. After doing that tho, Id probably just wait til tommorrow (or late tonight since Im very anxious) for everything to dry out. Its possible something got wet and is sending electricity where it shouldnt be. I used to get all kinds of problems and codes after washing engines of vehicles Ive had in the past.

Keep us updated.

somewhat, the codes went away and it is shifting fine now and my tcase is shifting my 4x4. but my engine light is still on like i said, i just want to let it sit in the garage one more night. i might let it run for an hour tomorrow and maybe the light will go away (cross fingers) i have put too much money and time into it to let it do this to me.

Well its good the trouble stopped. Most codes stored will take a little bit of running/driving to turn the light off. I believe its a particular amount of "driving cycles". Hopefully it goes out and the moisture was the problem. That was a cheap fix. :D

no kidding. i just needed my parents and the gf to sit in the trunk to make it lower about and inch or two so it would fit in the garage :P

HAHA :-)r
With my luck I would have thought it would clear, went to drive through, hit the garages roof, tore the garage door off, ripped off my roof rails, and still had the KJ running bad. :banghead:
