| Post subject: | Happy Day |
So I bought my 06 Limited Liberty. Wasn't long before it made it over to High Country Performance 4X4. These guys can work magic - 25 years in the biz. I put on a set of Rubicon tires and rims, 3" old man emu lift, custom exhaust, mopar light bar, all 4 mopar skid plates, full set of weathertech heavy duty mats. It sat out front of their shop over the weekend. People started looking at it and wondered if Jeep made a rubicon edition!! One guy wanted to set up his wife's Libby the same way. One guy wanted to know if it was for sale. An ARB front bar gets installed on Monday along with tailight guards. I am putting a CB in this weekend. But, the best part today was the shop wanted to know if they could post MY KJ on their website - seems they got kinda fond of it over the past few days. In case you want to see it, here is the link: http://www.hcp4x4.com/searchslide.asp?id=73&pi=0 |

Very nice! It actually really does look like it should have "Rubicon" written on it somewhere. |

The of adding a rubicon badge just to stir people up crossed my mind - sick, warped humor of mine! |

OME makes a 3 in lift? |

Yes, OME has a 3" lift...the guys had to search a bit to get their hands on it.. that with the bigger tires gave me the lift I needed to get my rear-end off the ground. |

Not according to ARB Australia they don't! Is this a US specific thing? They do a 2.5" lift, is it that? Or you can get an OME based kit from Suburban 4WD which includes the 2.5" kit and spacers to give you an extra inch, a bit like your Frankenlift. Whatever, it's a sweeet looking truck! |

Looks awesome. Did High Country pound in your pinch weld? Take a look if you don't know. I stopped there a few months after I bought mine and they were giving me all kinds of qoutes for this and that. Over $3000 for ARB, winch, lift, tranny skid...etc...etc...etc. I balked at that price. Too new and I didn't have that kind of money. You should ask them if the 3" lift will void your warranty with the dealer. Call your dealer and ask them. Most dealers will accept the 2.5" lift, but go crazy with anything in the 3+" lift range. Are you going there Monday 6 Feb? What time? I wouldn't mind stopping by there after work and checking it out and showing off my KJ to them. Put ours side by side....also let me see how the sag is on your KJ with the ARB. |

Your Liberty looks awesome. Mad props to ya for what you've done with it. I definitely think Jeep needs to take a cue from you and release a Rubicon edition. That thing looks like it could conquer just about everything the Wrangler Rubicon could. Again, very nice..... |

Thanks guys for all of the great comments, I really do appreciate all things said -good, bad whatever - - I was mistaken or mislead on the lift...it's a 2.5" after all but what the heck, with the tires and all it's just about where I want it anyway. Regarding the ARB front bumper, I ordered it because it is winch capable and supposed to be one of the best out there. To go with the color scheme of what I am trying to do, I asked for a black powder coated one. Well, for the Liberty, it only comes in silver or dark gray. I have three choices, take the dark gray as it is, have the body shop shoot it black for another $400 or find another style bumper. Opinions welcome, PLEASE !! I am supposed to go to the shop today and look at it and make up my mind. Thanks again for all of the nice comments! |

Ome only makes a 2in lift, ive got it. If you get the HD springs you may get 2.5 on the front. Ive got medium all around and only got 2in with a small clevis lift, very small clevis lift. Love the ride with it. If you get 31in tires then you would get 3in of lift. |

I am sure you can find another place to paint it for less but with top quality. Talk to AdamisAdam. He got his ARB bumper painted to match his KJ. Shop around. |

You must really have money to burn - $400.00 to paint a bumper! I painted mine for less than $15.00.....Took some 600 grit and sanded just the gloss off the standard dark gray and shot it with 2 cans of Rustoleum Midnight Metallic (Blk. metallic) purchased from Wal-Mart. You don't have to paint the inside as it doesn't show, just the outside. Actually, the dk. gray color it comes in is only a few shades lighter than black anyway. You'll see what I'm talking about when you get it. |

If you've got money to burn, why not invest in Rock Lizards front bumper? You'll hafta wait a lil while, but you'll be supporting the club and a business man that really listens to his customers. |
