My 02 has an oil leak.. 105k and its starting to get old putting a quart or two every month in it. I have not inspected very closely but close enough to know that its leaking somewhere around the pan. How long of a process is this? Is it an RTV gasket?
I'm starting to get my mind made up to fix it finally... just a really dirty job :?

thanks

-Nick

To replace the oil pan gasket you either need to pull the engine out(FSM way) or drop the cradle(while supporting the engine from above). Not a easy fix either way,and no you can not pull the pan without doing one of the two methods already stated as there is just not room to clear the oil pump pickup.

Really?! oh shucks... thats no good at all! Any other way to fix? If you really did find the leak could you clean it really good and RTV the crap out it or something? I'm not going to put that much money into that jeep with its mileage. I'm guessing thats like 300-500 for either fix? Dont think its worth it..

Thanks for the info, hows life treating you btw? been awhile..
