AAMCO Trans flush

Had my trans flushed and provided the trans filters to be changed at AAMCO last week @60k. Since then I've noticed a harder shift when coming to a stop, it's been more frequent in past 4 days. Never had an issue before. They said they'll take a look but trans flush wouldn't have caused this. Suggestions??

Make sure they used ATF+4 only and not DEXIII with a additive.

Yes... when I was serving my sentence in FL, I had a trans flush done when I had a regear and the shop did exactly that. I had to have another on before moving back here to clear the cripe out.

Checked the trans fluid appears to be low, but hard to read without dye the top 2 spots for HOT didn't have fluid. Haven't been able to experience the hard shift in past 2 days so it's odd. Gonna drop it off tomorrow and have them take a second look.
They had another KJ in the shop at the same time I took mine in. I would hate to think that I'd have to specifically tell a trans shop what fluid is required for a late model domestic vehicle.

most likely it needs the quick learn done, because new fluid as a different viscosity. the clutch pressures are used to the old fluids viscosity. it will correct itself after about 500 miles if the quick learn is not done! mike :pepper:

You do, I found tranny shops all want to use Dextron. They must all read the same literature that says Dex is universal for any tranny. I took mine to a shop for the first tranny service and they flat out said they wouldn't use anything but Dex, not even if I brought in the ATF+4 myself.

Needless to say, I didn't leave it with them, Serviced it myself.

Make sure your insurance is paid and drive it through their front door, pure mechanical failure :jester:

Kudos yellocoyote was right on. Fluid was low as suspected. AAMCO topped it off and I haven't had this issue continue. Thanks again LOST
