I can’t make up my mind. Here’s what the bumpers look like:

I would bedline, much more durable then paint. I know first hand as I am tired of touching up my front bumper from rock chips when I changed it from bedliner to paint and soon I will change my paint back to bedliner  When it was bedlined I never had to touch it up, I did however paint the bedliner a flat black because I didn't like the shine from bedliner. I also hope to build my new front bumper before I spend the cash on more bedliner for my old bumper I made

I wont even read any posts and go with my original thought after read the head line (and personal preference) buy no other paint (maybe rust inhibitor) but bed liner! :JEEPIN:

Bedline IMHO. Oh and I wish there were bumpers as simple as that for our KJs. :banghead:

Leave it up to you Tom to throw a curveball.  Our KJ has an ARB painted front bumper and the RL rear bumper is about to get painted as well. I do like the painted look. 8) Plus, paint is easily removable. Bed liner is a more permanent application and isn’t as easy to take off. On the flipside, I like bed liner for it’s durability. Decisions, decisions……….. :dizzy:

True, but if you remember correctly, it’s going to be repainted Hemi Orange.

Another vote for spray on bedliner, more durable, easy to touch up.

I already thought about doing that, but the guy who’s doing the painting/lining said that reds and oranges usually fade and turn pinkish or puke orange. So now I’m a little gun shy. :juggle: The wife wants to paint it black now, and then paint it hemi orange later to match.   She‘s very picky. But I can't complain or I wont get either.

I guess bed liner wins the vote. I took all my bumpers and parts in today to get them sprayed black. I’ll post up pics in the next couple weeks when I finally get everything installed.

I painted my grill in this order.

Sand the hell out of it.

Sprayed rubberized undercoating to see what it would do. Dried.

2 Good coats of bedliner. Dried.

1 Coat of random spray in a can (black) Dried.

Car washes, my clumsiness and the weather have not rocked it yet. Paint or otherwise.

Thanks for the info. That’s something to consider in the future.
