P0700, nobody could figure out what was wrong with the jeep, took in, week after week, nothing much happened, finally "the part they have been waiting for" arrived, meanwhile I saw my jeep drive by me at the traffic light, I follow him and it ends up in AAMCO, I speak to the guy, anyway, got my jeep back 34 days later.

At least the manager was able to get me a loaner, after the 2nd week.

So, if anyone has any issues with their transmission while the Jeep is in warranty (70k miles for 2004) take it in without delay and get it fixed. It drives like new now, I don't know what they did. My jeep was serviced regularly and all fluids changed according to recommended schedule, except for lapsing engine oil changes here and there, never over 5k.

A jeep dealer had an AMMCO put a transmission in under warranty?
No way would I accept that. Was it a remamufactured unit?
Jeep does that and installs them with warranty.
Why 30 + days? waiting for a donor?
This has to be a joke right?

No joke, just living in New York.. I was considered a "walk in" as they don't normally make appointments for at least 2 weeks, plus the time they took trying to figure out what they can do to fix it, finally outsource to a better mechanic.

Seems odd but if the warranty covers the third party work, it must meet specs.

I think a local ford dealership did that too... sub it out to tranny shops.
