Anyone replace one yet? I just replaced mine when I replaced my intermidiate shaft and darn it was a bear to remove, took about 2 hours of prying due to the rust buildup and rtv stuck in there.

Also I used a rebuild CV halfshaft from napa and it seems that the inner boot has too many folds in it with a possible wear area where the boot folds over the rather large clamp head.

About the folding over of the cv boot, check out my thread from when I replaced my cv with a napa reman'd. The boot had some pressure in it, after releaving it the cv boot went back to normal.

Thanks for the heads up- Great write-up on your shaft replacement, I'LL try and do what you did to relieve the pressure.

I was able to separate the cv from the shaft with some moderate hammering,It wasn't to bad in there just enough to cause a little play, I had a slight thumping noise like you had only when off the gas.
Thanks again..
