 Post subject: So what exactly is different between 02/03 engines and 04+?

Lets say I wanted to put an engine out of a 06 into an 02. I have heard that the tone ring is different on the crank. Could just swapping out the ECU be enough? Engine Wire harness? Anything that can be done to make it work?
