Hey everyone,
Having an issue with my 05 KJ: I am haveing a vibration and humming sound (sounds like the engine is over revving but the tach is not showing this) throughout the vehicle when I hit 45mph and once I get to 65-70 it seems to be gone. It also is relieved when I make a turn towards passenger. I feel it in the steering wheel and gas peddle, and I can hear it vibrating my dash, so its the whole front end. I have had the front drive shaft changed thinking it may be that but did not solve the issue, I have also had the transmisson flushed and that did nothing to solve the issue. It does it with and with out skid plates on.

I go back into the dealer tomorrow to try to figure it out, any ideas what it could be?

Cv's tight wheel bearings are a possibility. anyway to check them with out tearing the front end apart?

if it were a wheel bearing i would venture to guess it would be your passenger beings it goes away when you turn that way. lift the tire off the ground and see if you can grab the top of the tire and try pushing it inward or outward. if there is any play other then left/right from your steering then it is probably the wheel bearing. Could also be a ball joint, they tend to creak and pop when goin out though. Could also be something along the lines of a motor mount or u-joint i would think also....

Rotate your tires front to back and see if it follows. I had a really bad vibration this winter, turned out to be tires.

I would agree on tires being a possibility. A lot of instances where there is a speed based vibration the tires are at fault. Its a cheap and easy fix that's good maintenance too. If that doesn't work at least your tires are balanced.

have had tires rotated and balanced since it started, that was my first thought also.

but will try it again.

Well front passenger hub bearing is gone and drivers side is getting close. so both being replaced, will see if this fixes it. I hope so.
