If so, what is the most reasonable way of doing it? Also, how did you package them? Thanks in advance!! Brian |

Just shipped a set of five in December... UPS was the cheapest. I work with a guy who used to work at UPS, he told me to not even wrap or box them (I did remove the center caps and shipped those separately). They arrived without any problems. |

If it's a $10,000 set of Boyd Coddington's, put 'em in a crate. Otherwise, just mail them unpackaged. |

They arrived without any problems. Agreed - I had a set of rims and tires shipped to me several years ago, UPS was cheapest then also, they arrived un-packaged and in apparently the same condition as when they were shipped. |

Five stock Libby alloy wheels and tires from New Mexico to California was $150 with insurance for all. I don't remember exactly, but they were somewhere between 40 and 50 lbs each. |

Check FedEx ground rate too. You can roll them into a Kinkos as is. |

USPS. I shipped tires only last week and they were half the price of anyone. I didn't package them just thru a label on there. Cost $150 to ship 5 tires @ 45lb 28x28x8.5 from ut to nc. good deal. check them out. |

I've heard that Greyhound (yup, the bus company) is pretty reasonable for large/heavy items but haven't personally checked it out. |

i did ship four rims ( saleen replicas 18" for my 2000 ranger ). sent them ups, when they arrived the bead edge on two of the rims were badly damaged as well as one other rim was totally warped as if it were dropped from the unloading belt. one rim did make it with no damage, so insurance on the total cost of the rims wouldnt be a bad idea. everything worked out, i got them straightened and repowder coated in austin tx for $200. good luck ! |
