Got code p1281 tonight, so I bought a thermostat from Autozone.

Think this is going to work alright? It seems a little small compared to the stock one. Should I just get some kind of RTV to keep it in place then put the hose back on?

Stock on left, aftermarket right.

What do you think? I still need to go to the dealer and get coolant tomorrow anyways.

Got it working..just had to stare at it a lil longer.

Now I just really wish this darn coolant was more readily available.

Napa has it in my neck of the woods. Was $10 a gallon, not bad. Picked up a gallon to keep around as a spare.

Does the thermostat(housing) have any kind of seal? Or just the ring around the thermostat?
