What does it do? and will it be ok to drive with out it?

You cannot drive without it. It controls all the electrical equipment inside the Jeep. It controls your Speedo, AC, power windows, etc.

darn... i had a good idea, but now I have to work around this... oh well

anyway... does anyone have a spare cluster that I could buy??
