Hello all,

I'm currently in the market for a used KJ 4x4.

With my previous ride, I spent a lot of times on forums and found the people on tend to be very knowledgeable...I also found there were many things specific to my car i wish i had known to look for before purchasing.

So I was wondering if there were any KJ specific (or year specific) areas of the car I should look at or be weary of when checking them out at the dealer...

I know newb questions like this aren't really taken very well by constant forum go-ers...but thanks for any help.

you're where I was a year ago.
here's what I learned too late...
07's have electronic throttles so if you're into driving manuals you can get into alot of fights with the computer, mostly with you losing.

i really don’t know all the differences between models but i have an 04 and i think its the best year (the newest with the fog lights located on the bumper and not high on the grill) whatever difference you could either modify or compensate with something else
it doesn’t have esp though but if u like to go offroad u'll probably hate it anyways

goodluck

hehe, I have a 2002 ARB front bumper, winch, Moab rims and a ton of other things that I would be willing to part with for the right price :D And I just installed new JBA 4.5 UCAs just need to get the alignment. Place I hit the other night said they were open till 7 but when I got there at 5:45 they said no because they actually close at 6. :furious:

I personally like my 2002, great over all vehicle very few problems, that i have experienced. 1 window reg went out and I swapped it out with the upgrade online...Custom rear bumper w/tire carrier which is still being worked on, need to finish the corners. Have not had time to do it yet. Everything else is good, it goes where I want it too and have never had any problems. And it is lifted 8) OME all the way around.
