With 48 states currently covered in snow does anyone else have a winter KJ rescue story to share? I always get a kick of the look on people’s faces when I offer to help them with my small Jeep. 3 days after the 12/26/10 NYC Blizzard my street finally got plowed and I headed over to my in-laws in Queens. Their streets had been traveled but the plows still hadn’t made it out there. I ended up pulling an Expedition with 24” wheels, crappy low profile street tires and a broken 4x4 system to boot. It was stuck in the snow on a slight uphill and the only spinning wheel was getting zero traction on top of a deep metal storm drain she slid into. It took 4 or 5 pretty hard jerks with my recovery strap but I got her out. In that much snow odds are that she got stuck at the next stop sign but I still felt good about myself and my Jeep. Anyone else? |

I just fished the local fedex truck out of the front yard this mouring he was extremely Next not 20 mins later was a little toyota pick up went nose first in the ditch right across the street. So i went back out there and grab my strap again didnt even put it in 4wd this time just gave a little snatch and it came right out. To bad the young kid in the truck had is foot buried in the gas so when he came out he went straight across into the other ditch. So this time i made him put it in neutral and pulled him forward till we cleared the ice. |

A little bit before the end of last year, i got a call from my friend(which i always get alot of calls from, when stuck) saying he was stuck way out in the boondocks in four foot drifts that pretty much covered the road. Some quick info on what my friend drives is a ZJ with about 4-5 in of lift, lock in the rear W/ Ford axle swap(always for get what it is an 88 or 9 something like that) 31X 10.5 cooper sst, aftermarket front bumper. So, anyways i bundled up and started to head towards him, on my way out i seen about 10-15 car in ditches or stuck unfortunately none of the cars had anyone in them, and no plows have made it out there so i was busting about 1 foot to 3foot drifts going across the road, but of course i made it. when i got there his hood was starting to get cover by the drift, one good thing is that he had all his straps ready for me when i got there. We hook up the straps i put it in four low and in about 4-5 good decent tugs i yanked him right out. Good Times P.S. this was about the Fifth time i had to pull him out last year, two of the time i had to pull him out of Swampy, mudding, creek crap it was nasty. (Grand)Cherokee Recovery Vehicle |
