So as some of you know my dad and I work on my jeep together. Neither of us has a ton of knowledge about how to do stuff... we each know how to do something different. We get A LOT and I mean A LOT of info from you guys here! Its kinda what makes our projects successful. So thank you. OK on to the actual post now. My dad is feeling pretty generous and has seen some of your guys' jeeps...tjkj and tommound for example have hood louvers. He reaaally likes them! He wants to buy me a set to go on my jeep. I'm pretty happy about it. Another project=cooler jeep+more father son time. So what kind should I get and how difficuly is install? Thanks! |

Can you tape up your hood so you don't get scratches? Can you drill a hole? Can you use a jig saw? Can you follow a pattern? Do you like Reeses peanut butter cups? If so then you can do it. Oh I just threw the last one in for S's & G's

just take your time... measure it out a few times..... i would first lay the louver down and drill the holes for mounting before i cut it out but thats just me.... the key is patience... also under cut because you can always take more away later |

Just make a pattern if one is not included and then use it as a drilling/ mounting guide I've cut holes in at least ten to twelve of my old Jeeps/Fords |

Also, I didn't see anyone answer the first part of your question. What kind? Most on here have used louvers off of Pontiac GTP. Search eBay and find you a set. |

Even though they don't have GTP louvers, Try searching "hood louvers" on ebay. Tons of results. Pick any of them that you like. |

Plus everything is not on there all of the time. It took me over 6 months to find the ones that I wanted and for the right price Rome wasn't built in a day you know I've been continually building/working on mine since 09/21/04

I took a look at the gtp ones... just not my style, I thought they were more like the runcool ones with the sharp angles in the corners. I will probably tell my dad that if he want s to order a pair those would be my first choice. Probably will get them for my birthday in july!

KJWildman wrote: My GTP Louvers ![]() Thanks Tom! Those look good. Which OE paint is that? Flame Red or Salsa Red? Love that color............ I think I will go with the RunCool hood vents. They look good on Troy's Jeep.

Other option is Gen-Right, about 1/3rd the price of the run-cool louvers.
