Hi all the way from South Africa :BANANA:

I have a 05 2.8 CRD Manual Transmission with a problem. It keeps jumping out of 1st when you pull away. If you apply pressure to the stick shift while pulling away there is no problem. According to my local dealer there are some plastic bits and the end of the selector and these get worn so as not getting into gear properly. To replace the part they want in the region of US$700 or more without the labour etc :furious:

Can one buy this part loose?

Sounds like your first gear syncro is bad. It's an expensive part to fix. I don't really know about where to get parts but I'm sure someone on here can help.

I had/have the same problem with my 2003CRD gearbox, but with 3rd gear, it's now being fixed at the Jeep dealership. They tell me it's because water got into the Gearbox!!!! I have 80K miles on the clock, I this it's more due to bad parts from the beginning...
