Post subject:  Removing and replacing vent window on '06 Libby

This is probably an odd question for this section, and forgive me if it's in the wrong place, but I have an '06 Liberty CRD "under my care." It's actually my grampas but I look after it for him as he's elderly and bought it upon my recommendation. Anyway, he manged to somehow bust out the right rear vent glass. After being shocked by the prices of OE replacement glass, I found a junkyard OE tinted window and have it on order. Now, I thought I would go ahead and replace it for him, rather than him pay a glass shop to do it, but in looking at it, I'm not sure what the best way to go about that is. I've replaced them on XJ Cherokees, but it's much simpler. Any advice?

Click the link in my sig and pull up the FSM. Tells you how to replace it there.

Unless I'm missing something the FSM is very vague about replacing the vent window. However, I got the replacement and it has not only the glass, but the bar, mount, and run channel with it. SO this may be easier than it looks....

May have misunderstood your original post. Thought you were referring to the rear window over the storage area, or are you talking about the little windows in the rear door.

If it is the rear door, the FSM shows how, and it is very easy.

Cliff notes version: Remove the interior shell, have the window rolled full up. Where the bar is separating the two windows youll see a bolt through an access hole. Undo bolt, lower window. Pull out old window, shove new one in, roll window up. rebolt.

Yes, the door window. Awesome, thank's for the help. Looks like I've got two Jeep door panels to pull this weekend! Snapped the regulator in my WJ last night :banghead:
