Post subject:  Funky clutch pedal pressure

Background:
2007 Liberty Sport, v6, 6spd, NP241
28,000 miles on the clock

Problem:
randomly the "pressure" required to push the clutch pedal down changes. sometimes it feels what I'll call "normal", other times it feels very heavy. also have noticed it's sometimes dependent on how fast I press in the pedal... "normal" pushes usually have a "normal" feel, quick/fast/hard pushes sometimes have a "hard" feel. granted this is only the 2nd vehicle I've ever owned with a hydraulic clutch but the other one never has a change in pedal feel depending on how hard/fast I push on the pedal.
Any thoughts as to if this is an actual problem with something I should take care of? Could this also affect my ability to shift? the trans right now feels "grumpy" most times i shift and i'm getting ready to have a Fluid Festival on the jeep tomorrow (both diffs, t-case, trans, brake fluid, coolant.) from what i can tell you can't crack open the clutch hydraulic line and bleed or replace the fluid in it. am I wrong regarding that?

Thanks!
