Can someone tell me how to adjust (aim) the headlights, please?

Is it even possible?

I didn't see it mentioned in my owner's manual and I didn't see anything obvious when I took a peek under the hood. I believe there's usually a knob or screw to turn (as I recall from previously owned cars).

I was just thinking about this and trying to figure it out now. Plus, when the day comes for me to add a lift, might come in handy knowing how to re-aim the lights so I don't blind anyone.

Thanks.

haha I asked this same questions about a month ago. I'm not too sure on the side to side adjustment. But if you are wondering how too adjust up and down...i'm your man. If you pop your hood and stand infront of your drivers side headlight.....look the the left a few inches and you will see a hole with a silver screw needing an hex wrench to turn it. If you turn it clockwise i believe it lowers the beam, and counter-clock-wise should raise it (just going by memory, it might be the opposite lol) I hope this helped, good luck!!

Image We never could find out about a side to side adjustment.

There isn't a side to side. I was trying to figure out a way to shim it for the adjustment. This has to be the only vehicle I've ever seen that didn't have a left to right adjustment. If I didn't know better I'd think it was one of Ford's better ideas...

***Zombie Thread Alert***
Tonight I had just about had it with our newly purchased '04 Libby's headlights highbeams acting like lowbeams. Thanx for the help with adjuster locations. I discovered my lights were adjusted to the lowest setting on adjustment screw travel. Looked at the garage wall and took a guess. Bullseye. Now I can see the deer before they enter the roadway.

Just remember these two phrases: loosen up and tighten down. There it is .

Weird, my 2002 Export CRD has adjustment for moving the beams sideways as well!

Also has electrical beam height adjustment...very useful!

Mine takes the H4 Halogens....standard ones are terrible but I have Hella Nightbreakers on now which are much better.
My beams were aiming off at about a 30 degree angle to the horizontal...obviously to light up pedestrians on the sidewalk while not blinding oncoming drivers but the angle was much too drastic.
I melted the plastic section where the bulb was held so that I could now rotate the beams to about a 10 degree angle...much better now. :)

Interesting tip! When adjusting upward I did notice more of a swing outward as you mentioned. That comes in handy where I live in cherry/apple orchard country. I totalled my TJ a month back when a doe jumped in front of me going 50mph, no time to touch the brake pedal. I'll check on aftermarket bulbs, thanx!
