I want to go to an after market intake and exhaust do to the results in mpg and performance others are reporting. I'm thinking flowmaster 40 with this intake. ![]() Anybody running something like this? Is it legit or garbage. It is quite a bit cheaper than other after market intakes I've seen. I read all of the post about LongTallTexan's cold air intake, but it doesn't appear he's got one for the 04's figured out yet. If so, I'd like your's if you read this LTT. I'm not expecting miracles, but from what I've read people have gained 1-3 mpg from each mod. So, if the exhaust/intake together can gain me a at least couple miles per gallon in addition to some performance and a nice sound to boot, I would be thrilled. Any opinions would be appreciated. Especially if they are based on experiences rather than guesses.

Engines like cooler air do you think that intake will intake cooler air or hotter, quick answer all it will take in is hot air 1-3 mpgs more for each, intake and exhaust sure in advertisements not the real world intake look at LTTs mod for the air intake and an Amsoil or even a good paper filter, way better than what you have pictured |

I know the numbers are inflated, that's why I said with both together I hope for a little improvement. I do understand what you mean about the hot air. Now that you mention it, it's obvious that I over looked that part. Do you know if LTT got it figured out for the 04's? Maybe I should just PM him directly... Just out of curiosity Tommudd, what are you running for intake/exhaust? And what kind of difference have you noticed in mpg and performance? |

I don't have a problem with the flex hose, but I would like it to mate up to the airbox properly. BugginKJ wrote: Pm KJWildman, he may sell you his that he longer needs. Thanks for the tip, I may look into that. |

After running different systems before on mine the best overall seat of the pants feel and mileage is with the stock box, Amsoil filter and a 3.5 inch hose to the grill. Have a solid flexible hose that I found at a swap meet and it works perfect , not even sure what it was suppose to be for One of the Y tube filter setups is fine for short blasts like drag racing possibly( even then you want cool air though) , but for stop and go every day traffic all they do is suck in hot air, no benefits at all |

Good info, thanks. How about on the back end? Are you running stock exhaust? |

If you want the dreaded drone from the Flowmaster then go that route. Yes check and you'll see lots of reports Magnaflows are good sounding and will last, end of discussion Chris !

K&N Drop-in Air Filter + DynoMax Ultraflo Stainless Steel (Welded) = Perfect No drone sound, good rumble, better gas milage, and i can definitely feel a little more pep on the gas. |
